Ever been to France?

We get some fairly interesting calls from time to time here at Maisons Rurales. When ‘ A Place in the Sun’ first aired these strange calls became daily for a while. The morning after the first programme I fielded a call from a gentleman living in the west country…………

"Hello, is that the French Estate Agency?"

"Yes, we are an estate agency based in France"

"I’m interested in buying that ‘ouse, ‘ouse and gite it was, on TV last night"

"I’m sorry none of our houses have been featured on TV"

"Oh, do you not sell ‘ouses then?"

"Yes, certainly, if you tell me what you’re looking for then I’ll direct you to our website where you will be able to lookup some properties which may fit the bill"

"Well, that ‘ouse and gite would be perfect 30 grand it were! Looking for something like that, on the coast, with cliffs, Britny I think it were"

"Ah, well, we don’t have any property in Brittany, but I can give you the phone number of an agent there who will help you"

"Where are your houses then?"

"We are based about 4 hours drive south of Brittany"

"Ah, you’re in the south of Fraaaance, then?"

"No, the south of France is about 5 hours drive south from us"

"Blimey, big place Fraaaance innit!"
